CASCA will be awarding five $1,500 scholarships this year. They will be awarded to five (5) high school seniors who recognize the important role of their high school counselors.  The amount of each scholarship will be $1,500.  SUBMIT via this online form only BY FEBRUARY 1, 2017.

Criteria -

1. Candidates must be a New Jersey resident, a 2017 graduate of an Atlantic County, Cape May or Cumberland County high school and have been accepted/plan to enroll in a post secondary institution.

2. Candidates must write a 250-400 word essay describing how their school counselor has influenced his/her life in a positive way.  Applicants can give specific examples about their counselors such as helping with important decisions, providing support in a critical time, assisting in developing self-understanding and self-acceptance, etc.

3. The school counselor who is the subject of the essay MUST be a current member of the Cape Atlantic School Counselor Association (CASCA).  We will not be able to consider any applications if the individual counselor has not paid CASCA dues.  If a school counselor is unsure about his/her membership status, please email

2017 Mayflower Application Scholarship – If you are pursuing a degree related to US History then download an application at and complete it by March 15th 2017. The award is $1,620.

NJ Electronic Security Association Scholarship – A $1500 prize will be awarded to the winner. More information and applications are available at The deadline is March 10th.

NJ Schoolwomen’s Club – Please visit for applications for the NJSC Scholarship. The award is $1000. The deadline is March 3, 2017.

Communications Workers of America (CWA Local 1014) – If you are a senior student who has a parent in the CWA visit  for a scholarship application. The deadline is March 3rd.

Atlantic County Women’s Hall of Fame – This scholarship is offered to a female graduating senior form an Atlantic County high school who demonstrates excellence in academic achievement, leadership and community involvement. The application is available in the Guidance Office under the letter A for Atlantic. The deadline is February 15th

The Violet Richardson Award – This award is given to women ages 14-17 engaged in volunteer action within their communities and school. The deadline is February 15th 2017. Applications are available in the Guidance Office under the letter V for Violet.

National School Plant Management Association 2017 Scholarship – If you are planning to pursue a college degree you may be eligible for this scholarship opportunity. The scholarship packet is available in the Guidance Office under the letter N for National. The deadline is April 15th 2017.

Atlantic Chapter Scholarship – The NJ School Buildings and Grounds Association is offering 2 scholarship opportunities. The first one is the NJSBGA Scholarship which is due 2/15/17 and the second one Atlantic Chapter Scholarship. The Atlantic Chapter application is under the letter A for Atlantic.

Princeton Prize in Race Relations – The organization recognizes high school age students who are helping improve race relations in their schools or communities. Visit to enter. More information is available in the Guidance Office under the letter P for Princeton.


Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue with our scholarship program for the 10th year.
We will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year.

Charles Kosmutza Scholarship Program –
The NJ Disabled American Veterans will be awarding three $1,000 Scholarships to graduating High School Seniors for post High School Education. Please pick up an application in the Guidance Office to see if you qualify.  The application will be filed under the letter D for Disabled. You can also visit the website @


Lance Corporal Jon T. Hicks, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Award Fund
The Lance Cpl. Jon T. Hicks, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Award Fund is a foundation setup to provide students the opportunity to pursue a military or law enforcement career.  The award is given in remembrance of Lance Cpl. Jon T. Hicks, Jr. who died at the age of 20 in the line of duty in Iraq.  Jon was a member of the U.S. Marines Corp and aspired to a career in law enforcement.

Scholarships – December 2016

Fred Baker Scholarship – Any senior pursuing a Career in either Law Enforcement or Fire/Rescue Fields should apply for this $2000 scholarship. You can pick up an application in the Guidance Office under the letter B for Baker. Deadline is March 31, 2017.

Avoda Award – The Avoda Award is an annual award given to two or three outstanding Jewish Students who attend high schools in Atlantic or Cape May County. Students who receive this award are also in the top 10% of their class. $80,000 is usually spilt between two or three students! You can access a application @ March 1st 2017 is the deadline.

Educational Testing Service Employees’ Community Action Fund (ECAF) Scholarship Program – This program specifically seeks to help graduating public high school seniors facing hardships, including but not limited to financial need. You can apply online at the deadline is April 21st.

GE – Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program – High School seniors eligible for $10,000 renewable scholarships. Apply online @

WACE –This National Co-op Scholarship Program will award up to 175 merit co-op scholarship opportunities to high school seniors. Please visit for an application and to find out more about this program.

Mensa Education and Research Foundation 2016-2017 Scholarship Essay Contest – For essay rules and to apply visit The deadline is January 15th 2017. Awards of $1,000 will be given.

New Jersey School Building and Grounds Association Scholarship
The New Jersey School Building and Grounds Association seeks to assist students who will continue their education by offering scholarships to students in search of an Associate or Bachelor’s degree.  Any graduating High School senior is eligible to apply for a scholarship. A total of $4,000.00 has been budgeted for the 2017 Scholarship Program for up to four individuals based on the selection criteria. The individual scholarships are $1,000.00 each.
